The arctic chill that's causing problems in other parts of the country is bringing a cold rain and fog to the Las Vegas Strip, and snow flurries to higher elevations around the city.

But noon temperatures of 37 degrees made it a little too warm for what might have been the first measurable snowfall in two years in the resort corridor.

National Weather Service meteorologist Faith Borden says snow is falling in the nearby Spring Mountains, with flurries in the foothills Summerlin neighborhood.

Borden says the last time it snowed on the Strip was a trace on Dec. 22, 2006.

The Nevada Highway Patrol and Las Vegas police say there've been numerous fender-benders on wet roads, but no serious injuries.
