Shell victim identified, shooter on the loose

The employee of the Shell gas station who was shot and killed last Wednesday at the convenience store has been identified by the police as 29-year-old Narinder Singh of Las Vegas.

Singh was shot while working at the Guru Express Mini Mart at 6698 Sky Pointe Drive, at Cimarron Drive, Las Vegas police said. His death from multiple gun shot wounds has been ruled a homicide by police.

Police are still searching for the shooting suspect, 26-year-old Vicente Alvinez, a store employee who was fired the night before the killing. Alvinez was last seen driving a white 1987 Mazda RX-7 with Nevada license plate 220 VJV.

Violence hit a new community in Centennial Hills Wednesday as a worker was shot and killed inside a gas station.

At the Guru Express at Buffalo and Sky Pointe, the shooter walked into the convenience store's office and open fired. Police are currently reviewing surveillance video and talking with the customers who witnessed the murder.

Police have identified the alleged shooter as Vicente Alvinez, a former employee of the Guru Express. Alvinez is 26 years old, Hispanic, and wears his curly hair in an afro style. Alvinez was last seen driving a white, 1987 Mazda RX-7 with Nevada license plates reading 220-VJV.

Multiple gun shots were fired at the Shell gas station on Skypointe and Cimmaron in Centennial Hills, leaving one person dead.

Around 8:30 a.m., police believe an employee or former employee of the gas station shot and killed his boss. According to witnesses, the man walked in to the store and spoke with the manager in the back office. Customers in the store at the time heard the gun shots, and then witnessed the man fleeing the scene. The manager was pronounced dead at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds. Investigators are now looking to surveillance tapes for help.

Police say the suspect is a Hispanic male who speaks with an accent, looks to be in his late teens or early 20s, and stands between 5'2" and 5'5" tall. He has dark curly hair, and was last seen wearing a grey shirt, a tan pair of Dickies pants, and a blue bandana. Police say he was seen driving a small, white, two-door car.

No one else was injured during the shooting.


There is a possible homicide at a gas station on Skypointe and Cimmarron in Centennial Hills. Police are at the scene. Stay with News 3 for more information.
