Woman Accused of Making Up Wendy's Chili Story

Updated:

A new development in the case of a local woman claiming to find a finger in a bowl of Wendy's chili.  Investigators search her home for signs she may have planted the finger herself.  Detectives from Las Vegas and San Jose, California searched the home of Anna Ayala on Wednesday.

It was at a San Jose Wendy's that Ayala claimed to find a finger in her chili.  She and her daughter say investigators trashed their home while looking for evidence. But investigators would not say what they were looking for.

"I do have an attorney now... and I'm going to fight back because this is stupid.. We were treated like criminals.. Terrorists or something."

Wendy's executives say they have investigated the incident. They say there's no evidence the finger came from their chili ingredients or the restaurant. The company has put up a 50,000 dollar reward for information.
