Alicia Jacobs is a native Las Vegan and UNLV Alum. She also happens to be a former Miss Nevada USA and Miss United States. Alicia began covering Entertainment News at Las Vegas' ABC affiliate; she joined KVBC News in November of 2003. She is featured on the 4 o'clock and 11 o'clock newscasts, as well as "News 3 Today," and "Wake-up with the Wagners".
Proclaimed "Queen of Celebrity Scoop" by "Vegas Magazine," Alicia's interviews have included George Clooney, The Jonas Brothers, Bob Hope, Sean "Diddy" Combs, Jay Leno, Josh Groban, Drew Barrymore, and Andrea Bocelli's first ever English language interview.
Alicia can be seen on several national and syndicated television programs as an entertainment correspondent. She has been featured on "The Today Show," "Larry King Live," "CNN," "Extra," "Inside Edition," "E! Entertainment Television," MSNBC & "Scarborough Country," "The Geraldo Rivera Show," and was one of three judges on the "Looking for Stars" series on the "Starz Network."
Alicia is a sought after and regular contributor for "CNN Headline News," "Showbiz Tonight," and "Access Hollywood."
Alicia's revealing one-on-one interviews with A-listers read more like comfortable chats between friends. Celebrities have come to trust her journalistic integrity and viewers have come to expect Alicia's easygoing way to showcase the "real" side of their favorite celebrities.
Alicia's "behind the scenes" segments have seen her actually performing on-stage in several Las Vegas productions. She suited-up as a "Siren" and danced in the "Siren's of T.I." show, performed on-stage as one of Ivan Kane's "40 Deuce Girls," became a trapeze artist in the "Moscow Circus," vanished from David Copperfield's show and performed the lead role in the musical "Mama Mia," to name a few.
Active in the Las Vegas community, Alicia has been a board member for the American Cancer Society, having twice chaired the Great American Smoke Out. She is on the board of directors of the Nevada SPCA and has contributed her likeness and voice to countless campaigns on behalf of the Humane Society of the United States and the ASPCA.
In addition to her entertainment reporting, Alicia raises awareness for numerous animal causes, both through special appearances and through her popular "Pet Adoption" segments on KVBC. Alicia dedicates her animal activism to two of her dogs: Cuddles and Princess, who, while no longer with us, remain a cherished part of her life.
Alicia says, "I am truly passionate about animals. I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to their well being in this world."
Alicia's favorite way to spend her spare time is with her four dogs: Pearlie-Faye & BoJangles, Sparkle, & Star. "They make me smile everyday," says Alicia.
