Parents file suit over two high school plays

A lawyer says about 50 parents are behind an effort to stop a Henderson high school theater production of two plays this fall.

The lawsuit filed Friday says "The Laramie Project" and "Rent" are too adult-themed and weren't properly brought to parents' attention before they were approved at Green Valley High School.

"Rent" is a Pulitzer Prize-winning Broadway play with topics of homosexuality, drug use and AIDS.

"The Laramie Project" is the story behind the fatal beating of Matthew Sheppard.
