A fight breaks out between a group of Rancho High School students Thursday afternoon and resulting in three teenaged brothers being rushed to UMC Hospital.
The incident happened just a few blocks away from campus, near the intersection of 22nd Street and Owens.
North Las Vegas Police Officer Chrissie Coon says the brothers were walking home from school when they were approached by a group of kids, also believed to be Rancho High students.
An issue had allegedly erupted between the brothers and the group earlier Thursday.
Mireya Gradilla, 18-year-old Rancho student: Supposedly it was because some guy touched a girl's behind and the other guy got mad. They were going out.
Jose Gradilla, 17-year-old Rancho student: One fool was all bloody up, praying ‘I don't know why.' The other fool was sad.
Yolanda Hernandez, 13-year-old witness: It was crazy. It was like something that I never thought would happen here because it's a peaceful neighborhood.
The 14-year-old victim suffered from blunt trauma, possibly from being attacked by a baseball bat; the 16-year-old was stabbed; and the 18-year-old suffered from unknown serious injuries.
"Initially the 16-year-old was transported in serious condition with multiple stab wounds," says Officer Coon. "However, he has since been upgraded by medical personnel at the hospital."
Investigators questioned several witnesses at the scene and have suspect information that could possibly lead to an arrest.
Rancho High School officials were unable to comment on the incident.
